Annual Lodge Events


Ordeal/Fellowship Weekends

The Ordeal is a new member induction weekend. Nacha Nimat hold's three ordeals each year: in May at Camp Bullowa, in June at Camp Nooteeming, and in September at Camp Nooteeming. During this unique adventure of the spirit, candidates undergo a series of tests which allow them to experience the richness and warmth of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service. The Ordeal is also an opportunity for those who have been Ordeal members for at least ten months are invited to seal their membership in the Order and become Brotherhood members.

Haunted Harvest Festival

The Haunted Harvest Festival consists of a weekend of fellowship and service to Council. It is one of the biggest event the Lodge holds each year. It give the Lodge a perfect chance to get involved in cub scouts, for the festival is a Cub Scout event intended to promote Cub Scouts and recruit new cubs. Each year, the Haunted Harvest Festival is a the special weekend which the Lodge will hold its annual election of the new Lodge officers for the following year.

 

Annual Winter Banquet

Each year during the first week of January, the Lodge gathers for the annual Winter Banquet at Anthony's Pier Nine. New and old members alike come out for this exciting evening of food, fellowship, and lots of fun. The evening culminates in a keynote address by the Supreme Chief of the Fire or another invited guest and the presentation of Lodge and National awards, including the James E. West Fellowship and the Founder's Award. The Lodge's biggest fundraiser is held that night, the Lodge's annual Silent Auction.

Conclave

Every year, Nacha Nimat Lodge gathers together as a Lodge to celebrate the Northeast Sectional 2C Conclave. In a weekend during the last week of August, Brothers from 10 other lodges all overn the Section come together for pure fellorship, excitement, and wonder. Mouth-watering banquets, entertainment shows, activities and compititions, and superior training cells are held for OA brothers non-stop all weekend! It is most certainly that this is an event that brothers will not forget.



Lodge Leadership Development (LLD)

This is a national program that continues the Scouting tradition of training leaders. The youth are trained by experienced youth in the skills needed to plan and lead OA activities. The skills learned are often directly useful in their local unit as well. Advance training for youth and adults is also available and active youth are encouraged to participate.
